Speaker: Dr. Bartsokas, Memorial Health System Sport Medicine
Dr. Bartsokas received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University. He completed his residency at Akron General Medical Center. Dr. Bartsokas is board certified in family medicine. He also has a fellow status in the American College of Sports Medicine. He has over 30 years of experience in primary care sports medicine. As a participant in the USOC’s Volunteer Physician program, he cared for athletes at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan.
He believes that Sports Medicine should fulfill two purposes: 1) to provide expedient care to anyone with athletic, occupational, and recreational injuries and 2) to encourage and advise people on becoming more physically active.
He provides non-surgical orthopedic care, consultations regarding the effects of exercise, the management of chronic pain, fracture care, and other services to our community. He leads a Walk with a Doc program every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Wayne Street Medical Campus and invites everyone to join him. His office is located at the Wayne Street Medical Campus and he is accepting new patients.

About the Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council
The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council is a program of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, co-sponsored by The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene.
Purpose
It takes concern and dedication to instill an awareness of worker safety. The MOV Safety Council strives to provide increased safety awareness through the combined efforts of companies and the community at large.
Safety Council Goals
- To provide a forum for businesses and industries interested in occupational safety and health.
- To examine and resolve potential and existing safety and health problems.
- To Inform participants of new safety and health techniques, products and services and to provide a thorough knowledge of these services.
- To encourage safety programs through a Safety Campaign.
Membership to Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in developing increased safety awareness. The annual membership fee is $50 per company.
Luncheons are held with presentations on a wide variety of safety subjects as requested by the membership. Safety Council meets monthly, usually on the third Wednesday of each month.
