About Us
The Busy Bee Restaurant was founded by the Williamson Family in 1944 in the building that formerly housed Storck's Bakery and Confectionary at 226 Gilman Avenue in Historic Harmar Village on Marietta's West Side. The Roberts Family purchased the Bee in 1954 and turned it into a local favorite and it stayed in their family and with relatives of the family until 2016 when it was purchased by Larry Sloter and his family. Since 2016 the Bee has seen a rejuvenation period with remodels to the dining room and kitchen. In addition the Sloter family and their team have restored the foundation of The Bee by sourcing local ingredients and a scratch kitchen that has won multiple Readers' Choice awards for the Marietta Times and Clutch MOV and has been featured in the Ohio Travel Magazine and In Your State magazine as a top breakfast spot in Ohio and a cornerstone of the food scene in Southeast Ohio.
We look forward to serving our customers great scratch made food in a quaint diner environment with the best service available. We try to build our menu with the best items available from hand squeezed orange juice to local milk, sausage made half a mile away and bacon, eggs and produce sourced as close as possible so you can taste the difference and know that your support of our small business goes to support many other small business in the area. We even keep a list of those suppliers on the wall in our dining room so there is no mistake where we are getting things from and whom you are supporting.
